The intelligent water filter. Coffee consists of 98 percent water. The perfect quality for a perfect coffee result is correspondingly elementary. JURA is revolutionizing water filtration with CLARIS Smart. For the first time, a fully automatic machine* communicates permanently with the filter thanks to modern RFID technology (RFID = radio frequency identification). It recognizes whether a filter is used and automatically activates the corresponding mode. It continuously collects information on filter usage and reports when the capacity is exhausted. This not only makes changing the filter easier than ever, CLARIS Smart can also develop its effectiveness ideally.

Pure water for delicious coffee

CLARIS Smart works according to the professional upflow principle and always filters exactly the amount of water that is required for the preparation. In this way, the filter is used efficiently. There is never any stagnant, pre-filtered water, which could quickly become contaminated, in the water tank. In addition to limescale, heavy metals and substances that impair smell and taste, such as chlorine, are also filtered out. The minerals important for health remain in the water. Result: Pure water for perfect coffee specialties and at the same time optimal protection of your fully automatic machine from limescale.

Automatic filter detection

JURA uses modern RFID technology to enable dialogue between the filter and the fully automatic machine. Every machine with the intelligent water system (IWS®) automatically recognizes when a filter is being used, automatically switches to filter operation and starts rinsing. If the filter performance is coming to an end, the fully automatic machine will inform you that the filter needs to be changed. If this does not happen, the device activates the descaling mode. After appropriate use, the prompt to descale appears. And this can only be done with the filter removed. Incorrect manipulations resulting from misunderstandings are definitely a thing of the past with this system.
